SOME OF NICK'S GEAR ...
Percussion
Below is a picture of some relatively inexpensive percussion noisemakers.  The very first musical instrument I
learned how to play was drums -- I took lessons at the ripe ol' age of six and played in band during the 5th and
6th grade.  In spite of all the instruments I have subsequently "learned" how to play, in all likelihood I am really
just a sometimes-frustrated drummer.

That little red thing toward the bottom right of the below photo is an ancient-egyption-style tambourine called
a "riq" (pronounced "rick").  It can be heard on the song Your Eyes on
january .  The tambourine on the bottom
right was used on one or two songs, anyway.  The big thing in the center of photo is an african djembe and can be
heard (very faintly) on Dancing Across the Clouds.
